Cities, migration and urban integration (2nd edition)

For this special issue, we invite researchers, practitioners and experts to submit full papers that have been pre-reviewed and accepted for publication at the International Symposium on Cities, Migration and Urban Integration, organised jointly by EPFL's CEAT and UIR of Rabat. The papers must fall within one of the following themes:

  1. Spatial dynamics of migration in cities
    • Impact of migration on urban morphology and development
    • Spatial segregation and social mix in host cities
    • Inclusive urban planning and intercultural meeting places
  2. Socio-economic integration of migrants in urban areas
    • Access to employment, housing and urban services for migrants
    • Adaptation strategies and social networks of migrant populations
    • Cultural and identity issues in urban integration
  3. Urban governance and local migration policies
    • The role of local authorities in migration management
    • Inclusive urban policies and innovative initiatives
    • Multi-level cooperation and public-private partnerships in the reception of migrants
  4. Migration, health and urban planning
    • Impact of migration on urban health systems
    • Access to healthcare and health equity for migrant populations
    • Urban planning and health infrastructure in areas of high migration
    • Environmental health and living conditions of migrants in urban areas
    • Innovations in health services adapted to the needs of migrants
    • Resilience of urban health systems to migratory flows

 

Important dates

  • Deadline for submission: 30 November 2024
  • Date of first notification: approximately two days after submission
  • Peer review notification date: approximately one month after submission
  • Date of publication: immediately after acceptance and editing.

 

Editorial guidelines and submission

While writing their papers, authors should follow the journal guidelines. Final papers should be submitted through the submission link and authors should select the special issue "Cities, migration and urban integration" during submission.
